Tools - Books

There are so many places to start when it comes to tips and tricks for Witchcraft and Magic, and the information out there can be overwhelming. Felt a great place to start the newsletter off is with tools, and this first one about books.
There’s no shortage of books, blogs and e-books out there. You can find them in libraries, thrift stores, used bookstores and pretty much everywhere your heart desires. Here are ones that I feel are the most useful.
Scott Cunningham – Literally any of his books. Any. He is one of the best writers in regards to Wicca and the craft (in my opinion), and even though many try to copy him, they just don't do it justice. My biggest appeal is that you don't feel like you're being lectured, or preached to when reading his books. Just informed. I currently have the following: Wicca In The Kitchen, Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs , Wicca A guide for the Solitary Practitioner, Book of Shadows, Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem and Metal Magic
Silver RavenWolf - Great beginner books with information from channeling energy to how to read tarot, and understanding symbolism. I have and recommend the following: Solitary Witch, To Light A Sacred Flame, To Ride a Silver Broomstick and To Stir a Magick Cauldron
Lisa Chamberlain - Like Scott Cunningham, their books are very no-nonsense, straight to the point, which I absolutely appreciate. I currently have the following: Wicca Herbal Magic and Wicca Candle Magic
Patrinella Cooper - I am always interested in learning about other crafts and incorporating them into my own personal style. If you are interested in learning more about Traveler Magic, which many call Gypsy Magic, a great starter book is: Gypsy Magic: A Romany Book of spells, Charms and Fortune Telling
Catherine Yronwode & Mikhail Strabo - The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic: In Rootwork, Conjure and Spiritual Church Services is a wonderful starter book for Hoodoo / Voodoo. I have gifted this book to several people.
A.P. Antippas - While in New Orleans I picked up A Brief History of Voodoo: Slavery & The Survival of the African Gods, from Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo, . It’s short, but definitely informative.
Denise Alvarado - Learn from a true hoodoo mamba who will teach you the conjuring practices of the craft. You will not be disappointed. I currently have the following: Voodoo Hoodoo Spellbook, Exu Divine Trickster & Master Magician, The seven African Power, Voodoo Dolls in Magick and Ritual, The Voodoo Doll Spellbook, Day of the Dead Handbook
Your Grimoire - Last but not least, is your personal book of spells & incantations. Take what you’ve learned & create your own. Tweak your favorite spells & create new ones. Can be a digital library, composition books or homemade journals. The more you learn, the more Grimoires you will have. Start building your collection however you want. There is no wrong way to do it.
~That’s all for now! If you have any books that you find interesting & useful please share~
As always Happy Conjuring!
